BIO
Mixed Media Artist and Published Photographer Jessica Stone expresses the joys of life and works through traumatic experiences through a world of texture and vibrant colors. She adds layer after layer of paint and mixed media in hopes of giving new experiences each time her artwork is viewed and to symbolize the complex layers that make us who we are.
Jessica and her special needs dog Piper The Painting Bulldog have been featured on TV and websites worldwide from Texas Country Reporter, KXAN News, Yahoo, MSN, Dogington Post, Dogster, Mother Nature Network, and Dog Cast Radio for their artwork and cause. Piper's big personality is sure to make you smile in Jessica's self-published book The Artistic Mind of The One-eyed Painting Bulldog.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I paint not just because I love to, but also I need to. Day and night, my hyperactive mind causes twisted words, incomplete stories, unexpected moods, and brief sleep. When I paint, times slows down and I feel as though my mind is being cleansed as I become lost in a world of colors and freedom. Painting for me is like meditation to others. I believe I'm a better person because of it. No matter what emotions or life experiences fill me, I always have the desire to paint. Thoughts and emotions are released through blending, dabbing, dripping, layering, and scraping of paints. The outcome is often unpredictable until my mood and experiences become permanently fixed through acrylic and mixed media.
